Schluter Systems Extending with Spire Motorsports, Corey LaJoie For 2022 Season

Just days after confirming the extension of sponsor Built Bar to the No. 7 of Corey LaJoie for 2022, Spire Motorsports has confirmed another key partner for the entry in the upcoming season.

Schluter Systems will extend its relationship with Spire Motorsports and LaJoie’s No. 7 Camaro for the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season, signing on for seven races. The company will make its 2022 primary sponsor debut at the Pennzoil 400 in Las Vegas in March.

The company has been a longtime sponsor of the North Carolina driver, dating back to his time at TriStar in the No. 72 entry in 2018.

“Schluter Systems has been a key partner of mine since I began my Cup career,” LaJoie said. “Without their commitment, I certainly wouldn’t be where I am today. I’m profoundly grateful for the relationships we’ve created and grown with both their customers and employees across the world. We’re thrilled to welcome Schluter back for another great season at Spire Motorsports.”

Schluter served as a primary sponsor for LaJoie in eight races in the 2021 season, with the best finish of 15th at Darlington. Schluter will join LaJoie as a primary sponsor at COTA, Nashville, Michigan, Bristol II, Talladega II, and the season finale at Phoenix.

“After another season of partnering with Corey LaJoie and our first full season of working with Spire Motorsports, it is clear we’ve found a great home for Schluter Systems,” said Schluter Systems owner Udo Schluter. “We’ve always had confidence in Corey’s ability, and with the integration of the NextGen car, we are confident that we’ll see a big performance boost in 2022.”

The announcement of Built Bar and Schluters to the car for 2022 gives LaJoie and the No. 7 camp about half of the season confirmed from a sponsorship standpoint. In addition, circle B Diecast and Nations Guard are expected to return to the team, with their exact capacity for sponsorship yet to be confirmed.

“We’re proud that Schluter Systems has agreed to renew its partnership and continue building on what we started in 2021,” said Spire Motorsports co-owner T.J. Puchyr. “Corey, (crew chief) Ryan Sparks and the entire team did everything we asked of them, and really, a lot more. We’re building something that we know is going to take time, but we like the direction we’re heading. The new car is going to help even the playing field, so we’re ready to get going.”

Shawn Magee, often responsible for several LaJoie’s schemes of the previous few seasons, was the designer responsible for the 2022 edition of the Schluters Camaro.

“The 2022 Schluter Systems paint scheme was born from a direct request from Corey, ‘let’s go with camo all over with pops of orange,’ “Magee told TobyChristie.com. “With that in mind, we worked through some concepts and landed on a minimalistic yet bold look for this year’s Schluter Systems Chevy Camaro. The new number placement allowed us to get the Schluter brand large above the quarter panel and utilize their ‘traps’ icon on the door.”

The 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season is just a few weeks away, with the 64th running of the Daytona 500. The race is set to go green at 3:30 p.m. EST on FOX and the Motor Racing Network.
