Ryan Preece will take on his first year as the driver of the No. 60 RFK Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse with a veteran voice atop his pit box. Derrick Finley, who has worked in the world of NASCAR as a crew chief and various other high-level positions for more than 20 years, has been named the crew chief for Preece and the No. 60 team in 2025.
Finley, a graduate from the University of New Mexico with a mechanical engineering degree who has served as a part-time crew chief for the RFK Racing #Stage60 entry in 2024, is excited for the chance to lead Preece and the entire No. 60 team in 2025.
“I am incredibly excited to lead the No. 60 team,” said Finley. “I’m looking forward to working with Ryan (Preece) and the entire team. It’s a great opportunity to help start up a new team as we continue to grow at RFK Racing.”
Preece feels confident in Finley’s experience in the sport and within the walls of RFK Racing to help him get off to a fast start in his first season with his new team.
“Derrick will be a big help in getting the team integrated in the RFK processes” added Preece. “His experience with the procedures the organization has in place will help lay the foundation for the No. 60 car.”
For RFK Racing, the choice of Finley as the crew chief for the No. 60 team was an easy decision predicated on his longstanding track record in the sport.
“We’re thrilled to have Derrick lead the No. 60 team,” said RFK driver/co-owner Brad Keselowski. “His experience and technical knowledge of the sport will play a crucial role in the initial development and growth of the No. 60 team.”
While he’s competed in 219 NASCAR Cup Series events as a crew chief, Finley has yet to reach victory lane as a crew chief. Likewise, Preece is still looking for his first career NASCAR Cup Series win. Perhaps, they can help each other unlock the door to victory lane in 2025.
