Jimmie Johnson hasn’t won a race and he struck out on his bid to make the Playoffs for the first time in his career, but that apparently has not scared away his sponsor Ally. According to a fresh report from Sports Business Journal’s Adam Stern, sources are saying that Hendrick and Ally will announce a major early contract extension.

The announcement could come as early as Friday.

For the first 17 years of Jimmie Johnson’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series career, he was partnered with Lowe’s. However, the home improvement warehouse opted not to renew the driver’s sponsorship following the 2017 season.

In stepped Ally, who signed on for a two year commitment.

Now, it looks like Ally has liked their return on investment and are ready to dig deeper into NASCAR sponsorship.

Johnson is an 83-time winner and record-tying seven-time champion in NASCAR’s Cup Series. However, he has gone win-less over the last two seasons. Johnson currently sits 18th in the championship standings and has three top-fives and 10 top-10 finishes through 29 starts in 2019.
