Rain Postpones Coca-Cola 600 to Monday at 3PM ET; Xfinity Race Moved to 11AM

For the second straight day, Mother Nature has taken over at Charlotte Motor Speedway, forcing the postponement of Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600, as a result of the persistence of inclement weather.

Over the last two days, the Charlotte, North Carolina area has been plagued with endless amounts of precipitation, washing away virtually any opportunity for the NASCAR Cup Series or NASCAR Xfinity Series to get on track.

With the race’s postponement, Charlotte Motor Speedway will have a doubleheader on Memorial Day, with both the Alsco Uniforms 300 and Coca-Cola 600 running on the same afternoon.

The 2023 Coca-Cola 600, the 14th event of the NASCAR Cup Series season, will get underway on Monday, May 29th at 3:00 PM ET. Coverage of the season’s longest race can be found on FOX, PRN, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

With the addition of the NASCAR Cup Series to Monday’s schedule, the NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Charlotte Motor Speedway will be pushed forward another hour, now taking place at 11:00 AM ET on FS1, PRN, and SiriusXM.

The consistent onslaught of rain ensured there were no laps completed on Sunday, meaning the entire 400-lap distance will have to be contested on Monday, barring inclement weather coming after the halfway point of the season.

William Byron and Kevin Harvick will lead the field to green for Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600, starting on the front row for a race that is surely going to be a wildcard, with drivers having no laps on track prior to the event.
