On Wednesday, NASCAR announced that Phoenix Raceway will return as the host of NASCAR Championship weekend in 2024, which will take place from November 1st through November 3rd.

The official announcement was embedded in four photos that were posted in a Tweet by Phoenix Raceway.

Next year’s Championship weekend will mark the fifth-consecutive year that the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championships have been decided in Arizona.

According to Phoenix Raceway, being selected as the site for the NASCAR National Series championships for another year showcases how strong the fanbase has supported the facility.

“This honor is a testament to our fans whose overwhelming support makes this a true championship-caliber venue,” said Phoenix Raceway President Latasha Causey in a press release. “They pack the grandstands, fill the hillside, and create the best camping experience in all of NASCAR inside our breathtaking GEICO Gecko Campground. Now the onus is on us to exceed the already high standards we’ve set to continue building on this momentum and keep them coming back.”

There have been three different drivers that have walked away with the Bill France Cup in the three NASCAR Cup Series championships decided in Phoenix Raceway so far.

Chase Elliott scored the victory in Phoenix in the 2020 season to take home the crown that year, Kyle Larson won the championship with a win at Phoenix the following season, and Joey Logano won the season finale in 2022 to score the NASCAR Cup Series championship.

Prior to Phoenix Raceway serving as the host of NASCAR Championship Weekend, Homestead-Miami Speedway held the honor from the 2002 season until the 2019 season.
