It’s time to go crown jewel racing in South Carolina as the NASCAR Cup Series is set to contest the Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway on Sunday, September 1. Sunday’s race will be the final race of the NASCAR Cup Series regular season.

The day’s NASCAR TV schedule will kick off with the NASCAR Cup Series Cook Out Southern 500 pre-race show on USA Network/NBC Sports App at 5:30 PM ET. Immediately following the pre-race show, the official race broadcast will begin at 6:00 PM ET on USA Network/NBC Sports App.

Bubba Wallace, who is currently 21 points below the Playoff cutline heading into the day, will start the race from the pole position. If Wallace can win the race, he’ll secure his spot in the Playoff field, or if he outscored Chris Buescher by 21 points, and there is no new race winner, he’ll lock his place into the Playoffs as well.

Wallace will be joined by rookie contender Carson Hocevar on the front row. The Spire Motorsports driver has a chance to really upset the Playoff picture with a win as well.

Chase Briscoe, Kyle Larson, and Martin Truex Jr. will also start from inside the top five.

Christopher Bell scored the win in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event, and he’ll roll from the ninth starting spot in Sunday’s field. (Full Starting Lineup)
