The weather threatened throughout the duration of the day on Sunday at Michigan International Speedway, as the NASCAR Cup Series drivers and teams attempted to get the full distance of the FireKeepers Casino 400 in. However, after 74 Laps were completed, the rain returned.

Per NASCAR rules, for an event to be considered official, it must reach the halfway point, or the end of Stage 2, whichever comes first. That did not happen on Sunday.

As a result, the drivers and teams will hit the track again on Monday, August 7th to finish out the race. The race will be postponed to Noon ET on Monday. USA Network will continue to carry the television broadcast of the race.

MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, likewise, will carry the conclusion of the radio broadcast of the race as well.

When the race gets restarted, Tyler Reddick will lead Alex Bowman, Kyle Larson, Martin Truex Jr., and Erik Jones.

While the conclusion was unable to be raced out on Sunday, the action that did occur was quite intense.

Six cautions broke out in the opening 74 Laps of the event, and big named drivers Kyle Busch, Chase Elliott, and William Byron are all already out of the event due to on-track incidents.

Josh Berry is also scored out of the race in the 34th position. Berry was filling in for the suspended Noah Gragson in the No. 42 LEGACY MOTOR CLUB Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
