NASCAR Cup Series Qualifying for the NASCAR All-Star Race and the Mechanix Wear Pit Crew Competition have been postponed due to heavy rain on Friday afternoon at North Wilkesboro Speedway.

The events will now be moved to Saturday at 11:40 AM ET, which will follow NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series qualifying.

The qualifying session will set the lineup for Saturday’s Heat Qualifiers, which will ultimately set the official starting lineup for the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series All-Star Race.

The forecast for Saturday, and the remainder of the weekend, is questionable as well. If there are any further adjustments to the race weekend schedule, we will update that in future posts.

The weather held off long enough for NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series practice and NASCAR All-Star/All-Star Open joint practice to take place. All-Star Open qualifying was nearly fully completed, but with three cars left to turn their re-run laps, the skies opened up, and rain washed out the rest of the day.

As a result of the rain in All-Star Open qualifying, Ty Gibbs will start from the pole in Sunday’s NASCAR All-Star Open, which will see the top-two finishers and one fan vote driver advance to the NASCAR All-Star Race Main Event.
