It took Martin Truex Jr. 55 laps to go from eighth to first, but once he got by Brad Keselowski there was no stopping Truex as he cruised to the opening Stage win in the Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond Raceway.

Truex won Stage 2 and the overall race last weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Kyle Busch finished runner-up to Truex in Stage 1.

Keselowski, led a Stage-high 54 laps from the pole and ended the Stage in third spot.

Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick rounded out the top-five in the opening Stage of the race.

Clint Bowyer, who is looking to work his way back into Playoff contention after a rough week in Vegas, was sixth.

Matt DiBenedetto, Chase Elliott, Erik Jones and Jimmie Johnson made up positions seven through 10.

Several Playoff contenders including Kurt Busch, Aric Almirola, Kyle Larson, Ryan Newman, Ryan Blaney, Alex Bowman and William Byron finished outside the top-10 in the Stage.

Blaney, Bowman and Byron ended the Stage a lap down, but Blaney will receive the free pass as he was the first car a lap down when the Stage break caution came out.
