Kyle Busch Completes Sensitivity Training Before 2022 Season After Using ‘R-Word’ in Post-Race Interview

According to Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports, NASCAR has confirmed that Kyle Busch has completed the sensitivity training that was required of him after the use of the r-word in post-race comments at Martinsville Speedway.

Kyle Busch has completed sensitivity training required from using r-word last yr, NASCAR confirmed. Confirmation today doesn't mean it occurred in the last few weeks, just that he did complete it during offseason & those who conducted the session pleased with his responsiveness.

Pockrass says that NASCAR’s confirmation doesn’t mean it has happened within the last few weeks, but rather that it has been completed during the off-season and ‘those who conducted the session pleased with his responsiveness.’

Kyle Busch will be required to complete sensitivity training prior to the start of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season, NASCAR says, after the two-time champion used a derogatory slur in an interview following Sunday’s Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway.

The sanctioning body released the following statement on the matter Monday, saying: “Kyle Busch will be required to complete sensitivity training before the start of the 2022 season as a result of the language used during a post-race interview that is in violation of NASCAR’s conduct guidelines.”

While speaking with members of the media on pit road, Busch used the ‘r-word’ when referring to late-race frustrations that were boiling between himself and fellow playoff contender, Brad Keselowski. The use of the slur came just seconds before Busch said he “should beat the shit out of” Keselowski.

Hours after footage of the interview was passed around various social media channels, Busch issued an apology via social media, saying: “In one of my post-race interviews I used a work I should never use and I want to apologize for it.”
