For the fourth consecutive weekend, Kurt Busch has not been cleared to return to the NASCAR Cup Series, announcing Wednesday he’ll be once again sidelined for Sunday’s Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond Raceway.

Ty Gibbs will continue to serve in his interim role as reserve driver for Busch, piloting the No. 45 Jordan Brand Toyota Camry TRD in Sunday’s 400-lap contest for 23XI Racing.

Busch, the 2003 champion of the NASCAR Cup Series, announced the news in a social media statement, which reads as follows:

“I am making progress and pushing hard each day,” Busch said in his statement. “I am encouraged by my team of doctors, and we will continue to do everything it takes to get me to 100% to return to the competition. Thanks to everyone for the continued support and best of luck to the 45 team and Ty this weekend in Richmond.”

In his three races piloting the No. 45 Toyota Camry TRD, Ty Gibbs has recorded three top-20 results, including a career-best 10th-place finish Sunday at Michigan International Speedway.
