Jimmie Johnson has added two races to his 2023 NASCAR Cup Series schedule with LEGACY MOTOR CLUB, as he’ll pilot the No. 84 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in the March 26th event at Circuit of the Americas as well as the May 28th Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Club Wyndham will serve as the primary sponsorship partner for the two-race commitment. Club Wyndham, the nation’s largest vacations club, is excited for its new partnership with LEGACY MOTOR CLUB and seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson.

“Club Wyndham owners and LEGACY MOTOR CLUB fans know what it means to be a part of a club. It means finding a place to make memories with friends and family around shared passions,” said Tom Shelburne, Chief Marketing Officer for Club Wyndham. “We are excited about this new partnership with the LEGACY M.C. team, growing from our long relationship with Richard Petty. This new agreement will be great for our owners, race fans, and our business. We can’t wait to see Club Wyndham on Jimmie Johnson’s No. 84 Chevrolet.”

For Johnson, COTA will be an item on his personal racing bucket list that he’ll have the opportunity to check off.

“COTA has been on my racing ‘bucket list’ for a very long time,” said Johnson in a team release. “But my timing was off by a year or so. I was hoping it was going to be on the INDYCAR schedule – and it wasn’t – and then they added it to the NASCAR schedule after I left. I’m excited to finally be able to check this one off the list and thankful to Club Wyndham for making it happen. From everything I’ve heard, NASCAR drivers have had a lot of fun racing at COTA, so to say I’m looking forward to it is an understatement.”

Johnson competed in the season-opening Daytona 500 in the No. 84 entry, and while the end result was a 31st-place finish following a late-race crash, Johnson competed admirably and was in the mix for a top-10 finish until the crash that ended his race early.

The 47-year-old Johnson has amassed 83 victories in what is certainly a Hall of Fame-worthy career in the NASCAR Cup Series.
