Ryan Blaney has a knack for pulling off photo finish wins at Talladega Superspeedway, and in Sunday’s Yellawood 500, he struck again as he edged Kevin Harvick out by 0.012 sec.

It marked the second win of the season for the driver of the No. 12 Team Penske driver, and it unofficially moved him to the Round of 8 of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs.

The win, and advancement to the Round of 8 was made official following post-race inspection. Blaney’s No. 12 Ford Mustang passed post-race tech with no issues, and NASCAR declared Blaney and his team the official winners of the race.

Kevin Harvick was the initial runner-up finisher in the race, but his No. 4 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford Mustang failed post-race inspection, which resulted in a disqualification.

Harvick’s car was found to have infractions involving the windshield fasteners on his No. 4 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford Mustang.

Harvick’s disqualification elevates William Byron to a runner-up finish, while Denny Hamlin, Corey LaJoie, and Austin Cindric rounded out the top-five finishers in the race.

No other issues were detected in post-race inspection, and all results and standings are now considered official.

NASCAR will be taking the No. 24, No. 11, No. 31, and No. 41 cars back to the NASCAR R&D Center for an Engine Dyno.
