Joey Logano was able to perfectly stretch the fuel tank to secure his third NASCAR Cup Series victory of the season in Sunday’s South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The Team Penske driver passed Daniel Suarez with six laps remaining in Sunday’s 400-mile contest from Las Vegas, Nevada, and kept enough pace in the closing laps to hold off a hard-charging Christopher Bell.

Following Logano’s win, where he only led the final six laps of the race, NASCAR took the No. 22 Pennzoil Ford Mustang Dark Horse through post-race inspection.

After adversity in the tech shed last weekend — with Alex Bowman getting disqualified and bumping Logano into the semi-final round of the post-season — all eyes were on the process, but the yellow and black machine came out clean.

The victory marks the third of the season for Logano and the 35th of his NASCAR Cup Series career. Additionally, hoisting the trophy following Sunday’s event means he will go to Phoenix with a shot to win the championship.

There were no issues discovered in the post-race inspection.

Christopher Bell, Daniel Suarez, William Byron, and Alex Bowman will officially be credited with top-five finishes at Las Vegas. Martin Truex, Jr., Ross Chastain, Denny Hamlin, John Hunter Nemechek, and Chris Buescher will be the top-10.
