Erik Jones will have a new look this weekend at ISM Raceway in Phoenix, but it’ll be a look that is familiar for fans of Joe Gibbs Racing.

Jones will run the Interstate Batteries paint scheme that has been featured on Kyle Busch’s No. 18 car for several seasons. The team revealed this in a facebook post on Tuesday.

This will be the first time in Jones’ Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series career that he will pilot an Interstate Batteries car.

Jones has driven an Interstate Batteries sponsored car three times in NASCAR Xfinity Series competition between 2015 and 2016. In those three starts he finished 29th (after a crash) at Las Vegas, third at Iowa and third at Las Vegas in 2016.

The 23-year old has had another good season, as he scored his second career Cup Series win at Darlington, which propelled him into the 2019 Playoffs. Jones sits 16th in the championship standings and has racked up nine top-five finishes and 15 top-10s this season.

He will look to add more hardware to his mantle this weekend.
