Tyler Reddick and the No. 45 23XI Racing team will be without their crew chief Billy Scott as NASCAR has ejected him from Darlington Raceway after the sanctioning body found something that it did not like on the No. 45 Toyota Camry in pre-race inspection.

Veteran Joe Gibbs Racing crew chief Dave Rogers will fill-in for Scott this weekend.

The No. 45 team failed pre-race inspection twice, but passed on the third attempt so Reddick will be allowed to turn a qualifying lap on Saturday. NASCAR has the right to choose a member of the team to eject following inspection issues, and the sanctioning body chose the crew chief due to the nature of what was wrong with the car.

Any potential penalties stemming from whatever it was that NASCAR found on the No. 45 car will be announced early next week.

The No. 54 Joe Gibbs Racing team also failed pre-race inspection twice on Saturday, and has had its car chief Nate Bellows ejected for the weekend.

Both the No. 45 and No. 54 teams will lose their pit selections for Sunday’s Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway.

No other cars failed pre-race inspection multiple times on Saturday afternoon.
