When Kyle Busch pitted before the end of Stage 2 of Sunday’s Foxwoods Resort Casino 301, in an effort to set himself up for the race win, Aric Almirola inherited the lead.

Almirola would lead the final 10 laps of the Stage to take the win along with the Playoff point.

Joey Logano was second, Ryan Newman who started the day from the rear of the field ended up third, William Byron was fourth, and Kyle Busch was fifth in Stage 2.

Denny Hamlin, Kyle Larson, Kevin Harvick, Paul Menard and Kurt Busch rounded out the top-10 in Stage 2.

With five laps left in the Stage, Clint Bowyer and Martin Truex Jr. made contact while battling inside the top-10. They fell outside the top-20 after the incident.
