AJ Allmendinger Returns to Full-Time Cup Racing in 2025 with Kaulig

Kaulig Racing shored up part of its 2025 NASCAR Cup Series driver lineup on Thursday afternoon as the race team announced the return of AJ Allmendinger as the full-time driver of on of the team’s Chevrolet Camaro ZL1s.

The Kaulig Racing team made the news official with a post on the team’s social media accounts.

Allmendinger, who has been competing in a full-time manner in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Kaulig Racing this season, last ran full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series for Kaulig Racing during the 2023 season.

In 10 NASCAR Cup Series starts this season with Kaulig Racing, Allmendinger has recorded three top-10 finishes. The 42-year-old racer has scored three wins in the NASCAR Cup Series over his 440 career starts, two of which have come with Kaulig Racing since the 2021 season.

This year, the native of Los Gatos, California has three top-five finishes, and 10 top-10s through the opening 20 races of the NASCAR Xfinity Series season. Heading into this weekend’s Cabo Wabo 250 at Michigan International Speedway, Allmendinger sits sixth in the NASCAR Xfinity Series championship standings.
