Joey Logano, the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Champion, has picked up right where he left off at Homestead-Miami Speedway last November.

The driver of the No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil Ford Mustang was the fastest car in the only practice session for Sunday’s Advance Auto Parts Clash at Daytona International Speedway. Logano’s quickest lap was 196.786 mph (45.735 seconds).

Jimmie Johnson was second fastest, and Austin Dillon was third. Chase Elliott and Kevin Harvick — who were involved in a four-car accident with about 45 minutes left in the session — rounded out the five fastest in the practice.
