Defending zMAX CARS Tour Pro Late Model Series champion Ben Maier will join Niece Motorsports for the inaugural NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event on the Streets of St. Petersburg.
The 17-year-old driver will be getting behind the wheel of the No. 4 Chevrolet Silverado RST in what promises to be a stacked field of drivers for the series’ first-ever street course event. DQS Solutions & Staffing, JF Electric, and BOE Marine will serve as co-primary sponsors of the entry.

“I’m super excited to join Niece Motorsports for my third Truck Series start at St. Petersburg,” said Maier. “I think it’s going to be a fun race, and we should have a pretty fast truck there. We’ve been preparing a lot on the simulator, and I feel ready to go. Huge thanks to everyone at the team, Chevrolet, DQS Solutions & Staffing, JF Electric, and BOE Marine for making it happen.”
Maier, a native of Annapolis, Maryland, has an extensive background competing on road courses at a high level, including the TransAm TA2 Division, where he won a race at World Wide Technology Raceway in 2024.

A member of Chevrolet’s development program, Maier made his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut last Summer at Lime Rock Park, driving for Young’s Motorsports, where he collected a solid 18th-place result. The 17-year-old returned for a second start later in the year at Charlotte’s ROVAL, where he finished 25th.
“We are all looking forward to seeing what Ben can do in his first Truck Series race for our team at St. Pete,” said Cody Efaw, CEO of Niece Motorsports. “I think it says a lot about our company to have both of last year’s CARS Tour champions driving for us, given the caliber of drivers who compete there on a regular basis. Ben has been eager to learn since he showed up at our shop, and I think he will do a great job for us.”
In his first season competing full-time in the zMAX CARS Tour Pro Late Model division, Maier won the series championship, driving for Setzer Racing and Development, collecting seven top-fives and 10 top-10s on his way to the championship over Brandon Lopez and Dylan Garner.
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series heads to St. Petersburg for the third event of the season on Saturday, February 28. Coverage of the OnlyBulls Green Flag 150 will be on FOX, the NASCAR Racing Network, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
