Axalta Coating Systems is betting big on Hendrick Motorsports and the 22-year old driver of the team’s No. 24 car — William Byron. The automotive paint company announced on Monday, that they’ll be extending their partnership with the No. 24 tea, for five more seasons, bringing their deal through the end of the 2027 NASCAR Cup Series season.

“Our partnership with Hendrick Motorsports goes beyond signatures on paper. We consider the entire Henrick Motorsports organization part of our family and the foundation of our legacy in racing,” said Wade Robinson, managing director, global motorsports at Axalta.

Starting in 2021, Axalta will serve as the primary sponsor for Byron in 14-races per season, according to a team release. Byron is excited to keep growing his relationship with Axalta.

“My relationship with Axalta has been unreal,” Byron said. “They mean so much to Hendrick Motorsports and to out sport — from producing the all-time coolest and most recognizable paint schemes to everything they do off the track to make our sponsorship successful. I feel very lucky to have this opportunity and to help continue the winning tradition of Axalta, Hendrick Motorsports and the No. 24 team.”

Byron has yet to score a win through two seasons in the NASCAR Cup Series, but the youngster was zeroing in on his first win a season ago.

The North Carolina native scored five pole positions, and he racked up five top-five finishes to go along with 13 top-10s. Byron made the Playoffs in 2019 and finished the season 11th in the championship standings.
