Corey Day, who recently inked a multi-year driving agreement for Hendrick Motorsports, will compete part-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and ARCA Menards Series for Spire Motorsports.

The 19-year-old dirt racing phenom will compete in a total of four ARCA Menards Series events in 2025, driving the No. 77 Chevrolet SS for Spire Motorsports.

Day will begin his four-race ARCA Menards Series slate with the season-opening event at Daytona International Speedway, before returning to the series at Phoenix Raceway, Sonoma Raceway, and Kansas Speedway (September).

In addition to his four-race ARCA slate, Day will be competing in eight NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events, piloting the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado.

HendrickCars.com will serve as the primary sponsor for Day across all 12 of his events with Spire Motorsports in 2025.

“When racing on dirt, you see the small, quarter-mile bullrings and the big, fast half-mile tracks,” explained Day. “Either way, the racing doesn’t change all that much. But on the pavement, you will run on everything from aggressive short tracks, to technical road courses and the beasts that are superspeedways. No matter the racetrack, there are several things I need to learn in these pavement cars to eventually gain that versatility. I’m excited to get down to Daytona, run some laps and build a notebook of knowledge about drafting tracks.”

Mark McFarland will serve as the crew chief of Day’s effort in the ARCA Menards Series, while Brian Pattie will continue to serve as crew chief for the No. 7 in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

Day will make his first NASCAR Truck Series start with Spire Motorsports in March at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The Clovis, California-native will then return to the cockpit of the No. 7 Chevrolet in events at Homestead (March 21), Martinsville (March 28), Bristol (April 11), Rockingham (April 18), Nashville (May 30), Indianapolis Raceway Park (July 25), and Darlington (August 30).

“Corey has the raw speed that very few drivers have,” said Spire Motorsports co-owner Jeff Dickerson. “What he’s done, at his age, in a sprint car is very impressive and it doesn’t take a critical eye to see that he has the tools to have an amazing career in NASCAR. Stock cars are a different animal than sprint cars but having Jeff (Gordon) and Kyle (Larson) in his ears is a big advantage. We’ll put Corey in good equipment with a very talented team behind him and do our part to contribute to his success. Everyone at Spire Motorsports is looking forward to seeing him on the track at Daytona and in all the events he has planned this year.”

In 2024, Day competed full-time in the High Limit Series and in select World of Outlaws events, collecting 10 victories, 25 top-five finishes, and 44 top-10s in 73 starts on dirt. The now 19-year-old driver earned his first victory at Knoxville Raceway and became one of the youngest drivers in the World of Outlaws to record victories in multiple series.

On top of an already impressive dirt racing resume, Day broke onto the scene of pavement racing in 2024, winning at Hickory Motor Speedway in his second late model feature start.

Day also made four appearances in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing and four appearances in the ARCA Menards Series for Pinnacle Racing Group.

In Trucks, Day managed a best finish of 16th at Homestead-Miami Speedway, while in ARCA, the highly-regarded driver scored one top-five – a fourth at Kansas – and two top-10 finishes.

“Those races will help me immensely,” said Day. “I think having any time on pavement helps me understand the feel of the car and even just how the shows run. When I was preparing for my first ARCA race last year, I had no feel for what to expect when I hit the race track. Now I have an idea of what to expect, but there will obviously be some growing pains to feel out. I have the baseline, I just need to continue to shape and refine my craft to continue to improve. I never thought my career would end up here. I only started racing sprint cars three years ago, so it is crazy how fast my career has progressed just in that time. I’m super grateful for all the people along the way that believed in me and my abilities to get me to this point.”

Day, with the support of HendrickCars.com, is expected to compete in about 30 events with Hendrick Motorsports and its affiliates in 2025, including starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, ARCA Menards Series, and TransAm Series.
