Benjamin Pedersen kept the weekend’s momentum rolling and won pole for Sunday’s Indy Lights race at Portland International Raceway.

After leading both the practice sessions, the 22-year-old Danish-American put down a flying lap of 1m,3.6698s (111.048 mph) in the No. 24 Global Racing Group with HMD Motorsports entry to earn the top spot at the 12-turn, 1.964-mile road course. The result marks Pedersen’s first pole of the 2022 season.

Daniel Frost ended up second in qualifying, 0.1132s behind Pedersen’s time. Christian Rasmussen was the lead Andretti Autosport driver in third.

Championship leader Linus Lundqvist qualified fourth in the No. 26 HMD Motorsports with Dale Coyne Racing entry. Sting Ray Robb was fifth, ahead of Andretti Autosport teammates Matthew Brabham and Hunter McElrea in sixth and seventh, respectively.

Jacob Abel ended up eighth. Ernie Francis, Jr. qualified ninth and Kyffin Simpson in 10th.
