Linus Lundqvist put the hammer down to earn pole for Saturday’s Indy Lights race at World Wide Technology Raceway.

The 23-year-old Swede navigated the tricky 1.25-mile oval and posted a two-lap average of 160.259 mph (56.1590s) in the No. 26 HMD Motorsports with Dale Coyne Racing entry.

It marks the sixth pole-winning run of the 2022 Indy Lights season for Lundqvist, and also the ninth of his career (Note: he started first at Nashville but the field was set on points due to weather impacting a cancelled qualifying session). Lundqvist sits atop the championship standings by 95 points over rival Hunter McElrea with four races remaining this season.

Benjamin Pedersen, who led opening practice earlier in the day, ended up second in the No. 24 Global Racing Group with HMD Motorsports entry after pacing at 160.124 mph.

Piloting the No. 83 Andretti Autosport entry, Matthew Brabham qualified third to lead a train of teammates as Christian Rasmussen, Hunter McElrea and Sting Ray Robb all cleaned up positions fourth to sixth.

There were no incidents in the session.

Up Next: The 75-lap race on Saturday at 4:15 p.m. ET, with live coverage on Peacock, IndyCar Live! and the IndyCar Radio Network.
