Preparation revs up for the 106th Running of the Indianapolis 500 and it starts with all-day practices throughout the week at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The NTT IndyCar Series shifts focus to the oval as the month of May is underway following this past Saturday’s GMR Grand Prix. On Monday, teams and drivers were preparing their cars as the first practice begins Tuesday morning.

Tomorrow there will be two separate sessions with the oval veterans taking their turn on the track first in opening practice. Then the rookie orientation and refresher programs will be conducted for two hours at the start of second practice. All cars then will be permitted to continue runs for the final three hours of the day.

The following four days will be normal sessions with the track being free to every team. Here is the schedule for each 500 practice leading up to qualifying (May 17 – 21).
