Christian Rasmussen will switch teams for the 2023 Indy Lights season as the Danish racer moves to HMD Motorsports.

Rasmussen will race the No. 6 Dallara IL-15 which is entered in a collaboration with Dale Coyne Racing. The 2020 USF2000 champion is HMD Motorsport’s fifth announced driver for the 2023 Indy Lights campaign. The team plans to run eight cars.

“I am excited to get a new year of Indy Lights racing going and look forward to joining HMD Motorsports,” said Rasmussen in a team release. “I learned a lot last year in my rookie season and was able to score a pair of victories. I am excited to work with everyone at HMD including my new engineer Yancy (Diotalevi) as we aim to hit the ground running on our first two test days later this month.”

Rasmussen drove for Andretti Autosport in the 2022 Indy Lights championship, finishing sixth in points. The 2021 Indy Pro 2000 champion had two wins and three runner-up finishes, narrowly missing out on another win when he ran out of fuel late in the season-opening race in St. Petersburg.
