After an eight-year absence from the Anderson, California-based short track, the ARCA Menards Series West is scheduled to return to Shasta Speedway for the Shasta 150.

The 0.375-mile facility will play host to the seventh of 13 events on the schedule for the ARCA Menards Series West this year, as well as the second – and final – West Series event scheduled to take place in the month of July.

In 14 ARCA West (formerly NASCAR K&N Pro Series West) at Shasta Speedway, winners have included Scotty Cain, Bill Schmitt, Jim Walker, Jimmy Insolo, Jim Robinson, Ron Eaton, Derrike Cope, Bill Sedgwick, and Rick Carelli.

The most recent West Series event at Shasta Speedway was contested in 2015, and saw Chris Eggleston make a late-race pass for the lead on James Bickford to score his second victory of the year, in what would be a championship season.

None of the drivers entered in that West Series event at Shasta Speedway are scheduled to be in the field for Saturday’s event, meaning all 17 entrants will make laps for the first time in an ARCA West car.

Notable Entry List Notes:

Tyler Reif has moved to Central Coast Cabinets Racing for a one-off effort at Shasta Speedway, driving the No. 13. Todd Souza, the entry’s usual driver, will pilot a second entry for the team, No. 3.

Jake Drew, the defending champion of the ARCA Menards Series West, will return to the series for the first time in 2023, driving the No. 41 for Lowden-Jackson Motorsports, the entry in which Reif scored an early-season win at Phoenix.

Kole Raz, the younger brother of ARCA West winner Gracin Raz, will make his series debut at Shasta Speedway in a second entry for Jerry Pitts Racing, behind the wheel of the No. 5 Toyota.

Derek Copeland will also make his ARCA Menards Series West debut at Shasta Speedway, driving the No. 80 for Brian Kamisky. Meanwhile, Tim Spurgeon will join Nascimento-Joiner Motorsports in the No. 21 entry.

West Series regulars David Smith, Eric Nascimento, Takuma Koga, Sean Hingorani, Tanner Reif, Landen Lewis, Trevor Huddleston, Kyle Keller, and Bradley Erickson will all return to their rides as usual.

Ethan Nascimento, who has contested the full season in the ARCA Menards Series up to this point, is not entered in Saturday’s 150-lap contest.
