As the ARCA Menards Series East is set to return to the ‘Level Pebble‘ of Flat Rock Speedway this month, local driver Matt Kemp is looking to take his success at the track to the Dutch Boy 150.

Kemp is teaming up with Fast Track Racing to the quarter-mile oval. Heading into the race, the Sawyer, MI native competed in three races in the ARCA Menards platform, making his debut at Berlin Raceway and taking home career a best finish of 11th at Kansas Speedway for Fast Track Racing.

Kemp is a ringer for Flat Rock as well, boasting top-five finishes in all but one start across all classes since 2014, including five consecutive wins and six podiums since 2018.

I’ve always wanted to compete at this level – in fact, the reason I began seriously pursuing ARCA opportunities was because of this race. Flat Rock has been one of, if not my favorite tracks while racing regionally with the MCR Dwarf cars, and it’s been a great place for me since my first visit in 2013 when I was racing mini cup cars,” Kemp said.

It’s incredible the difference a year can make. I went into my debut start at Berlin last year well aware that it could be my only shot to race at this level. I feel incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to race, but also the opportunity to work with great people at Fast Track Racing. Andy gave me a shot that nobody else would, and I’m hopeful that the chance he took on me can pay off this year at Flat Rock, a track where Andy and Fast Track have had success in the past,” he added.

Joining Kemp on the car include Work For Green Shield, Deck Builders, Hoaks Graphics, and ELH Detailing.

You can catch Kemp’s run at the Level Pebble live on FloRacing on May 18th at 7:30 PM.
