Following the ARCA Menards Series / ARCA Menards Series East combination event at Bristol Motor Speedway on September 16, one team owner has been penalized by series officials for what the sanctioning body has determined “non-compliant activities”.

David Gilliland, co-owner of David Gilliland Racing’s No. 17, No. 46 and No. 54 Ford Fusion entries, has been fined $1,500, placed on probation throughout the remainder of the season and suspended for one race, for violating Section 12-8.1 of the ARCA Member Conduct Guidelines.

On Thursday, Robby Lyons – part-time driver across NASCAR’s top-three series — captured a video of a post-race altercation between a pair of individuals, which appears to include Gilliland and the driver of the No. 15, Drew Dollar.

During the event, Dollar driver spun David Gilliland Racing driver Thad Moffitt, a supposed continuation of an string of incident from prior weeks, which saw Dollar and two of his team members fined for their actions. TobyChristie.com has made an attempt to reach out to ARCA, in order to clarify if this is the reasoning for Gilliland’s penalty, but has yet to receive a response at the time of publishing this story.
