Daniel Dye, a part-time driver in the ARCA Menards Series and full-time competitor in the ARCA East Series for GMS Racing, has sustained a mild concussion and some whiplash injuries, following a brutal accident at Winchester Speedway during Saturday Night’s Calypso Lemonade 200 for the ARCA Menards Series.

The 17-year-old informed his fans and supporters of his injuries on Tuesday Afternoon in a tweet that has since been deleted, saying he sustained a “mild concussion and some whiplash injuries from Saturday Night,” but mentions later in the Tweet that he’ll be ready to continue racing his Late Model with Ben Kennedy Racing in Cordele next week.

Saturday Night’s accident at Winchester Speedway has since drawn a lot of attention to the series and the parties involved, as many were upset with the actions of Taylor Gray, who is set to be making his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at Watkins Glen, just seven days after the questionable incident.

While Dye and Sanchez were able to exit their vehicles without any major assistance, there were still some major implications of the accident, including thousands of dollars of destroyed sheetmetal for the two drivers and teams involved in the accident.

The following morning, Taylor Gray shared this point of view on social media, stating that the wreck was not intentional, but rather the result of a misjudgement on his part, saying “I don’t race like that and I hate that I wrecked their stuff.”

At this time, it appears that there will be no further penalties handed out to Taylor Gray or his David Gilliland Racing team by the officials of the ARCA Menards Series.

In the meantime, Dye will have about four weeks to rest and recover, before he makes his next scheduled ARCA Menards Series start at The Milwaukee Mile on August 29th, where he’ll pilot the No. 21 Chevrolet SS for GMS Racing.
