Looking to regain his ARCA Menards Series points lead, Daniel Dye got off to a hot start Saturday at Berlin Raceway as he will sit on the pole for the Zinsser SmartCoat 200.

Dye, who topped the charts in practice as well, sat on the pole and won this exact race a year ago after leading 198 of the 200 laps. The GMS Racing driver is currently 12 points back of the two Rev Racing teammates who are tied for the top spot.

Sammy Smith – who finished runner-up to Brandon Jones last week at Iowa – maintains that position as the ARCA Menards Series East points leader and looks to continue his short-track dominance. Smith is followed up by fellow Toyota driver Jesse Love who qualified in the third position.

Taylor Gray grabbed fourth on the grid, while it’s the returning Tom Hessert who rounds out the top-five for Venturini Motorsports. The 36-year-old has won six times in his ARCA career, looking to collect his seventh in his first start in over four years.

Teammates Nick Sanchez (sixth) and Rajah Caruth (seventh) will start alongside one another, as they enter the event tied for the points lead. Amber Balcean, Greg Van Alst, and Toni Breidinger rounded out the top-10 qualifiers.

The ARCA Menards Series will take to the 0.438-mile oval for 200 laps at 8:00 pm ET on MAVTV and FloRacing.
