Colby Evans, a long-time crew member in the ARCA Menards Series, will make his series debut with Clubb Racing, Inc. in the Atlas 150 at Iowa Speedway on August 1.

Evans will pilot the No. 86 Ford Fusion in the event at the iconic racetrack that hosts the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series.

DEEI Construction will serve as the main backer of Evan’s debut effort in the ARCA Menards Series.

A native of Prole, Iowa, Evans is a well-known member in the NASCAR and ARCA communities, and has been working as a crew member since 2016, for owers such as Carl Long, Morgan Shepherd, Timmy Hill, Brad Smith, and Andy Hillenburg.

Evans has had a brief career in short-track dirt events, along with a single start in the Salem Super Cars Series, where he finished in seventh place while driving a former Bill Davis Racing Dodge, once driven by two-time DAYTONA 500 winner, Michael Waltrip.

“I’m out here for the underdogs,” Evans told TobyChristie.com. “I’m showing that anyone can live their dreams if they try hard enough.”

“This means a lot because ever since I was six, I just wanted to be a race car driver. I went down the crew member route, but deep down, I never gave up that dream, and through the right connections and deals, I was able to make that dream a reality.”

The No. 86 entry for Clubb Racing, Inc. has had multiple drivers run alongside their primary entry for Alex Clubb in the No. 03. The entry’s best finish came at Berlin Raceway, where Chris Golden brought home a 19th-place result.

The Atlas 150 at Iowa Speedway will air live on FS1 on August 1 at 7:00 p.m. ET with radio coverage provided by ARCARacing.com.
