It was a veteran move on the final lap that put two-time NASCAR Pinty’s Series champion, DJ Kennington, into victory lane for the first time this season, making the classic bump-n-run maneuver on series rookie Treyten Lapcevich for the 22nd victory of his career and his fourth at Delaware Speedway.

Kennington had been setting Lapcevich up for the last-lap move on the final restart, when the driver of the No. 20 Chevrolet left the door open slightly heading into turn three for the final time, allowing the Castrol Edge Dodge to sneak through and head to victory lane.

Lapcevich finished in the runner-up position, after starting on pole and leading the most laps on Friday night, with Andrew Ranger, Kevin Lacroix, and Cole Powell rounding out the top-five. Shae Gemmell, Alex Guenette, LP Dumoulin, JR Fitzpatrick, and Dexter Stacey rounded out the top-10.

Alex Tagliani, who led the points entering the first leg of the Delaware Speedway tripleheader, had a dismal evening, finishing in 14th-place multiple laps down. What was an 11-point gap, has now shrunk to five points with two races left to go, after Dumoulin recorded a top-10 result.

Pete Shepherd III ran inside the top-10 for the majority of the evening and looked to be a contender for a top-five result, when a late-race stack up occurred trying to avoid a spinning Brandon Watson, ripping the nose off of the Jacombs Racing No. 7.
