Bret Holmes, the 2020 ARCA Menards Series champion, will return to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for a full-season campaign in 2024, driving the No. 32 Chevrolet Silverado for Bret Holmes Racing.

The organization, which enters its fourth season of competition in the NASCAR Truck Series, will continue its long-standing partnership with Chevrolet for the upcoming season while forging a technical alliance with Spire Motorsports — which purchased the assets of the now-defunct Kyle Busch Motorsports ahead of the 2024 season.

Since his series debut in March 2021, Holmes has accumulated 36 starts in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, the highlight of which was a near-miss at Talladega Superspeedway in 2022, which resulted in a third-place run.

In 2023, Holmes and his family-owned team embarked on their first full-time campaign in the NASCAR Truck Series, recording a season-high finish of 13th at Atlanta Motor Speedway, and finishing 23rd in points, after skipping the final two races.

“I feel like this year we have the potential to compete at the level we want to be at and win races,” said Holmes. “At the end of last year and through this off-season, we’ve looked at every aspect of our team and asked ourselves ‘how can we improve’? With that, we’ve brought on Mike Shiplett as crew chief, made a lot of changes in our processes at the shop in our preparation for races, and updated a lot of our equipment. I’m very excited for this year. I know that we will reach a higher level of competition and continuously improve as the year progresses. I know we have a lot of potential, and I’m confident we can get there this season.”

During the off-season, Bret Holmes Racing tapped Mike Shiplett, a 24-time winner as a crew chief in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, to call the shots for the No. 32 Chevrolet Silverado in 2024.

“I’m looking forward to my first full-time season as a crew chief in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series with BHR,” said Shiplett. “The Holmes family has a strong commitment and desire for success in this series. This, along with the changes we’ve made over the off-season, makes me excited for the opportunity to work with Bret and this team to bring the organization their first Truck Series win in the 2024 season.”

The Amherst, Ohio-native has mounds of experience as a crew chief in NASCAR’s top-three series, having scored victories in each series, since his first gig as a crew chief at Evernham Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for the 2007 season.

“We’ve had a productive off-season here at BHR,” said AJ Heister, BHR’s General Manager. “We have made some key changes to our program, including a technical alliance with Spire Motorsports. This will help bolster our engineering department and improve our team’s preparations for each race. We’re proud to continue our partnership with Chevrolet this season. They’ve supported us and been part of our race team for a long time. With everyone’s support, we’ve set some big goals for our team this year.”

Precision Garage Door Service, a Neighborly company, will adorn the No. 32 Chevrolet Silverado in six NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events in 2024, starting with the season-opener at Daytona in February.

Thompson Tractor will serve as an associate sponsor for the organization in 2024, while Golden Eagle Syrup will return as a one-race primary, as well as a full-season associate for the family-owned team.

Holmes will look to start his run at the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series post-season with a strong result in the season-opening Fresh from Florida 200 at Daytona International Speedway on Friday, February 16.
