Chad Kendrick Not Returning as Crew Chief for Rackley WAR in 2024

After spending the last three seasons as the crew chief for the No. 25 Chevrolet Silverado in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Chad Kendrick will not be returning to Rackley WAR in 2024, the team confirmed to TobyChristie.com on Friday.

The confirmation comes hours after the announcement that Ty Dillon, a veteran of the NASCAR Cup Series, will be joining the organization for a full-season effort in 2024.

Kendrick is a veteran crew chief in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, debuting with Timothy Peters and Premier Racing in 2008, before jumping over to Red Horse Racing together in the middle of 2009.

Throughout his career, Kendrick has worked with several race-winning organizations like Wyler Racing, Germain Racing, Brad Keselowski Racing, and Young’s Motorsports.

In 2021, the 45-year-old was hired as the crew chief for the newly-formed Rackley W.A.R., which was set to debut in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with Timothy Peters.

Since the team was founded, Kendrick has served as crew chief of the No. 25 Chevrolet, working with eight different drivers over the last three years, including Matt DiBenedetto, who scored the team’s first-ever win at Talladega Superspeedway in 2022.

According to Larry McReynolds, who spoke to Ty Dillon about his brand-new ride and crew chief on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio on Friday, Kendrick is looking to take on a new opportunity in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Kendrick’s experience in the second-tier series is limited, having worked with Kaulig Racing for a three-race stint with Austin Dillon (2018) and AJ Allmendinger (2019), in which he scored a single top-10 finish.

Per a representative from Rackley WAR, an announcement regarding the new crew chief for the No. 25 Chevrolet Silverado will be made in due time, once details are finalized.
