Corey Heim Fined $12,500, Docked 25 Points Following Season-Finale at Phoenix

Corey Heim, who finished third in 2023 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series point standings, has been penalized by NASCAR following his actions in Friday’s NASCAR Truck Series event at Phoenix Raceway.

Heim, the driver of the No. 11 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro for TRICON Garage, has been fined $12,500 and docked 25 driver points, after a late-race incident that involved fellow Championship 4 contender Carson Hocevar.

The 25-point penalty dropped Heim from third to fourth place in NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series point standings, placing him last of the Championship 4 drivers, behind Ben Rhodes, Grant Enfinger, and now Carson Hocevar.

For Heim, the penalty comes as a result of an on-track incident with three laps remaining in Friday’s NASCAR Truck Series event, when the Marietta, Georgia-native drove up the racetrack, putting both himself and Hocevar into the outside wall.

After the event, the TRICON Garage driver was adamant that the incident wasn’t retaliation for an earlier scuffle between the two drivers, where Hocevar got into the left-rear corner of Heim, sending the No. 11 Toyota Tundra spinning with 30 laps to go.

The penalty has no impact on the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Owner’s Point Standings, where the No. 11 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro for TRICON Garage will remain in third-place.
