Race Team Alliance to Host Inaugural Racers Forum Presented by R3

The Race Team Alliance, along with its member teams, is set to host the inaugural Racers Forum Presented by R3, a business conference where members of the industry discuss the ongoing issues tackling the sport both today and in the future.

In conjunction with its member teams, the Race Team Alliance (RTA) has announced the formation of Racers Forum presented by R3, a premier business conference for the racing industry featuring NASCAR teams, tracks, executives, and partners.

The private event will provide the motorsports industry with an environment to interact in a casual, yet accessible setting through a series of panel discussions with industry leaders.

Conceived by the RTA, Racers Forum looks to bring the racing industry together to discuss the most relevant topics acting the sport, but in a smart, fun, and interesting way.

The event, scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 17 at the NASCAR Hall of Fame is scheduled to feature four captivating panel discussions spanning topics from the value of multi-series competition to the evolution of ownership, and more.

Throughout NASCAR’s 75-year history, organizations have traditionally been family-owned and operated. However, much like the rest of professional sports, NASCAR teams are going through transitions in ownership.

Addressing some of those challenges will be The Evolution of Ownership panel which will include Heather Gibbs of Joe Gibbs Racing, Jeff Gordon of Hendrick Motorsports, and Brad Keselowski of RFK Racing. Abe Madkour, executive editor of the Sports Business Journal will serve as moderator.

In the eco-system of a NASCAR team, some might describe the NASCAR Team President as the engine that keeps the organization moving forward. They are innovators, motivators, and amongst the most important revenue creators.

Sharing their experiences in that very role will be the three-person panel discussing The Business of Racing, which includes Torrey Galida of Richard Childress Racing, Steve Lauletta of 23XI Racing, and Steve Newmark of RFK Racing. Danielle Trotta of SiriusXM NASCAR Radio will moderate the discussion.

American Motorsports is a rather tight-knit community, and there are a handful of organizations that find participating in multiple different forms of motorsports important to its brand.

Tim Cindric of Team Penske, Ray Evernham of Ray Evernham Enterprises, and Rick Ware of Rick Ware Racing will all share their thoughts on the increase of this recent trend in the Multi-Series Racing panel, moderated by Rick Allen of NBC Sports.

More than ever before, teams, tracks, and NASCAR are working together to build mutual value by creating and delivering satisfying customer experiences for their fans and corporate partners.

The Building Mutual Value panel will explore that topic and share the perspective and knowledge on the all-important customer experience, and the journey to sustained success off the track. The panel will be moderated by Peter Jung of NASCAR.

Panelists in this discussion include Julie Giese, president of the Chicago Street Race, Jessica Fickenscher, Chief Experience Officer of Speedway Motorsports Inc., Ty Norris, president of Trackhouse Racing, and Will Pleasants, managing director of Wasserman Media Group.

“We are very happy to be bringing the inaugural Racers Forum to the racing industry,” said Jonathan Marshall, Executive Director of the Race Team Alliance. “There are so many important topics that currently face the sport and its many stakeholders so bringing this all-star cast to lead these discussions is something we think the whole racing ecosystem benefits from. By discussing and working together as an industry, we feel we can help propel the sport forward in the best possible way. We fully expect this to be only the first of many such events.”
