Chandler Smith, who competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Kaulig Racing, has been tapped to compete for Rackley WAR in the No. 25 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Talladega Superspeedway.

A native of Talking Rock, Georgia, Smith will be running double-duty at the 2.66-mile superspeedway, as he’ll also drive a third entry for Kaulig Racing in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Yellawood 500.

“I’m super grateful for Rackley WAR giving me the opportunity to run their truck this weekend at Talladega,” said Smith of joining the organization. “Being able to represent Rackley Roofing, WAR Shocks, and this entire organization, is extremely cool. I’m definitely proud of and looking forward to the opportunity.”

The 21-year-old driver is a five-time winner in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, after spending the last two seasons competing for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the No. 18 Toyota Tundra.

“We are really excited to have Chandler [Smith] in the truck this weekend at Talladega,” said Rackley WAR co-owner, Willie Allen. “I’ve known Chandler and his family pretty much his whole life. They’re really good and Chandler is a great driver. We’re looking forward to the weekend.”

Smith replaces Matt DiBenedetto in the No. 25 Chevrolet for Saturday’s race at Talladega, after a September 19 announcement that stated Rackley WAR would be making a driver change on the organization’s sole full-time entry.

DiBenedetto, who captured the first-ever victory for Rackley WAR in the NASCAR Truck Series at Talladega Superspeedway one year ago, has not confirmed any plans for the remainder of 2023, or 2024, after announcing he would leave the team in August.
