3F Racing has tapped Ryan Vargas, a fan favorite in both the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series garage, as the organization’s Director of Team and Driver Development.

The 22-year-old officially announced his new position with the organization on Tuesday, confirming that he’s been selected as 3F Racing’s reserve driver in the NASCAR Cup Series.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join 3F Racing and assist in the development of their drivers coming from overseas,” said Vargas. “In the last year, I’ve gotten to know both Dennis and Paul as good friends and I’m excited to join them in the early stages of their growth.”

Vargas currently serves as a part-time competitor in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, where he’s contested a five-race schedule for On Point Motorsports this season, netting a pair of top-15 results at Atlanta and Texas.

“With Dennis’ expertise coming from the European racing scene, such as DTM Touring Car and GT World Challenge Series, I’m excited to work alongside him in welcoming drivers from different disciplines to the world of Stock Car racing.”

Despite telling TobyChristie.com that the organization had planned to run a 10-race schedule in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2023, 3F Racing has yet to announce an official date – or driver lineup – for their series debut.

“3F Racing is committed to growing their footprint in the NASCAR environment and this Late Model program is their first step in doing so,” Vargas added. “I’m very excited to go to work with these young drivers as well as have the opportunity to travel and be a part of the organization’s Cup Series endeavors.”

Heading into the Summer, 3F Racing has partnered with the well-established Late Model program Lee Faulk Racing, which will prepare the vehicles used in test sessions and race weekends by the organization.

Max Mason, a former Australian Open Wheel NASCAR Whelen Euro Series driver, will be the first of several drivers to participate in a test session for the organization, testing at Hickory Motor Speedway.

Additionally, 3F Racing plans to field Vargas in a Late Model Stock event at Hickory Motor Speedway at some point throughout the 2023 season. Further details regarding Vargas’ Late Model event will be announced at a later date.
