Tanner Carrick, who has been racing cars on dirt since the age of six years old, will make his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut in this weekend’s Weather Guard Truck Race on Dirt at Bristol Motor Speedway. Carrick will pilot the No. 30 Toyota Tundra for On Point Motorsports.

The California native will carry sponsorship from CVC Concrete in the event.

In a press release from On Point Motorsports, Carrick explained that he did not expect to be making his NASCAR National Series debut this year, but he is thrilled and excited to be doing so.

“Running the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Bristol wasn’t something that was really on my radar, and I am really thankful and appreciative that the team at On Point Motorsports reached out,” Carrick said. “Running on dirt is something that I am really familiar with, so I am really excited for this opportunity and look forward to working with everyone associated with the team.”

Carrick, 21, will be sliding behind the wheel of a truck that is on a hot streak in NASCAR Truck Series competition as the No. 30 team has finished top-15 in its last two starts. This past weekend, Ryan Vargas wheeled the No. 30 truck to an eighth-place finish at Texas Motor Speedway.

The young racer is a former USAC National Series Rookie of the Year winner and has gone on to be a 17-time winner in the Sprint Car ranks after shifting focus from Midgets after the 2020 season.

Carrick’s is also excited to see the opportunity come with Toyota as the manufacturer of the truck, as he built a relationship with Toyota in the Midget ranks.

“I am really thankful for the opportunities I have had over the course of my career that have led me to this point,” Carrick stated. “Starting my career with Keith Kunz Motorsports and building a great relationship with them and Toyota has been something that I have always cherished, and for this opportunity with On Point Motorsports to come about and them to also have a relationship with Toyota is cool. I am really looking forward to getting to work.”
