Discount Tire, the world’s largest independent retailer of tires and wheels, will return to Team Penske in both the NASCAR Cup Series and NTT IndyCar Series this season, as part of a multi-year extension announced prior to Sunday’s Daytona 500.

Under the new agreement, the organization’s long-time partner will continue its relationship with second-year driver Austin Cindric, serving as a primary sponsor of the No. 2 Ford Mustang in several NASCAR Cup Series events in 2023.

In addition to the company’s relationship with Cindric, Discount Tire will also serve as a multi-race primary sponsor of Ryan Blaney, who pilots the No. 12 Ford Mustang for the championship-winning organization.

Furthermore, Discount Tire and Tire Rack will return as an associate partner of Team Penske’s three NTT IndyCar Series entries, driven by Josef Newgarden, Scott McLaughlin, and Will Power.

“We are proud of Team Penske’s partnership with Discount Tire and the success we have had together over the years, including multiple championships and a victory in the Daytona 500,” said Roger Penske. “Our companies share many of the same core values and this is a partnership that continues to deliver, both on and off the race track. We are excited to build on our success together in 2023 and into the future.”

Discount Tire and Team Penske first partnered for the 2010 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, where Brad Keselowski went on to capture six victories, as well as the organization’s first-ever NASCAR National Series title.

The company served as the anchor partner of the team’s NASCAR Xfinity Series program for several years, in which time the organization was able to secure four Owner’s Championships in the second-tier series, including three straight from 2013 to 2017.

In 2018, Discount Tire transitioned its sponsorship into the NASCAR Cup Series on the No. 2 Ford Mustang, where it has remained for each of the last five seasons. Last year, Cindric delivered the company a victory in the Daytona 500, on his way to picking up ROTY honors.

“Discount Tire is grateful for our partnership with Roger Penske and Team Penske,” said Michael Zuieback, executive chairman of Discount Tire. “For more than a decade, this partnership has allowed our people, our customers, and our race team to dream bigger and we look forward to celebrating more championships together with Team Penske in the future.”

Across the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series, Discount Tire and Team Penske have partnered for an incredible 36 victories, the second-highest total amongst all sponsors in the organization’s history.
