Trophy Tractor, a long-time sponsor of Garrett Smithley’s efforts in NASCAR’s top-three divisions, will return to sponsor the Ligonier, Pennsylvania-driver in his full-time return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2023.

The company, which specializes in the sale and rental of haul trucks, loaders, dozers, scrapers, excavators, compactors, graders, and water equipment, will serve as the primary partner of Smithley’s No. 99 Chevrolet Camaro in the season-opening event at Daytona.

“The once-in-a-lifetime experience that a partnership like this allows us to give our customers is immeasurable,” said Maxx Miller of Trophy Tractor. “Of course, we’re race fans ourselves, but at the end of the day, it has to make sense for our business. The experience that BJ [McLeod], and Garrett [Smithley] can provide at a race is a great tool to have in our sales and marketing toolbox. We are looking forward to continuing our long-standing partnership with Garrett and can’t wait to work with all the great men and women at BJ McLeod Motorsports.”

Smithley, who will return to full-time competition in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for the first time since 2019, has made a total of 145 starts in the second-tier series, scoring a single top-five and five top-10 results throughout his career.

The 30-year-old isn’t a stranger to competing for BJ McLeod Motorsports, though, having run three NASCAR Xfinity Series events for the team at the end of last season, scoring a best finish of 23rd.

“From the minute I met Jeff [Miller] and Maxx [Miller], I knew they were fantastic, honest, hard-working people. I’ve always appreciated their passion for, and their investment in motorsports,” said BJ McLeod, owner of BJ McLeod Motorsports. They have supported Garrett [Smithley] for many years and long-lasting partnerships like this one are what makes the sport tick.”

In 2022, BJ McLeod Motorsports fielded a pair of full-time entries in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, with a third part-time entry running select events. Throughout the year, the organization scored a pair of top-10s, both at the hands of Ryan Preece.

“When the opportunity to have Garrett drive for us this season came about, one of the coolest conversations I had was with the folks at Trophy Tractor and the eagerness they had to help all of us achieve our goals,” continued McLeod. “It’s cliche, I know, but it’s no secret the struggles of last year for our group at BJMM, and then stepping up and showing support and belief in the people inside the walls at our shop was a big deal. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but I’m really looking forward to the journey together.”

Smithley, who will compete full-time in the No. 99 Chevrolet Camaro, will join Anthony Alfredo as the organization’s two full-time drivers for the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series season.
