Ben Rhodes Tapped to Practice and Qualify Kaulig Racing No. 16 at WWT Raceway

Defending NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion Ben Rhodes will practice and qualify for AJ Allmendinger in this weekend’s event at Gateway, while Allmendinger competes in the inaugural NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Portland International Raceway. PC: Jonathan McCoy | TobyChristie.com

Ben Rhodes – the defending champion of the NASCAR Truck Series — will practice and qualify the No. 16 Gold Fish Casino Slots Chevrolet Camaro on Saturday at WWT Raceway, Kaulig Racing announced Wednesday.

AJ Allmendinger – scheduled to compete in Sunday’s inaugural Enjoy Illinois 300 — will be unable to compete in Saturday’s practice and qualifying sessions, as he’ll be competing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Portland International Raceway.

The Louisville, Kentucky-native has competed in the NASCAR Cup Series on one prior occasion, making his series debut with Spire Motorsports at Sonoma in 2021. However, Saturday will mark the first time Rhodes gets behind the wheel of the NextGen car.
