ORIGNIAL STORY: Saturday, February 12, 2022:

The 2022 dream season for Kasey Kahne, who will get to finally run the full World of Outlaws schedule — something he’s always wanted to do — nearly came to a nightmarish end on Saturday at Volusia Speedway Park.

At the beginning of the last chance showdown, Kahne, the former NASCAR Cup Series star, who started from seventh-place, went for a bad flip and crash, which brought out the red flag. Video of the tumble was shared on Twitter by a user named @The_Work_Area:

Kahne would walk away from the severe crash, to the delight of the fans in attendance and his Kasey Kahne Racing team, which tweeted following the accident.

Kahne, an 18-time winner in NASCAR Cup Series competition, announced his plans to go full-time World of Outlaws racing for the 2022 season back on December 22nd.

Spencer Bayston would win Saturday’s Last Chance Showdown and advance to the Main Event. Logan Schuchart, Anthony Macri and Jacob Allen would also advance to the Main through the Last Chance Showdown.

David Gravel would go on to capture the victory in Saturday night’s Feature over Brent Marks, James McFadden, Sheldon Haudenschild and Brad Sweet.
