According to a new report from Catchfence.com, which cites anonymous sources, StarCom Racing — which currently fields the No. 00 car in the NASCAR Cup Series — has sold their team charter.

According to the report, StarCom Racing representatives will not confirm the news at this time, but an anonymous source with knowledge of the situation has confirmed to TobyChristie.com that the charter has indeed been sold and that StarCom Racing will fold at the conclusion of the 2021 season.

TobyChristie.com’s source stated that they were not at liberty to disclose which team had purchased the charter at this time.

If ultimately true, StarCom Racing would join Leavine Family Racing, Germain Racing, Go Fas Racing and Chip Ganassi Racing (who were bought out by Trackhouse) as teams to leave the sport over the last year.

StarCom Racing ran a part-time schedule during the 2017 NASCAR Cup Series season, and went full-time in 2018.

For the 2018 season, StarCom leased a charter from Richard Childress Racing, a charter they would purchase heading into the 2019 season.

The team’s best finish in a race, to date, was an 11th-place finish at Daytona in the summer of 2019 with Landon Cassill behind the wheel.
