Entering this weekend’s inaugural EchoPark Automotive Texas Grand Prix, William Byron sits on a streak of 11 consecutive top-10 finishes in the NASCAR Cup Series, a streak which started with his victory at Homestead in February. On Saturday, Byron showed us that the streak may be extended to 12 races on Sunday, putting down a flyer in the closing minutes of the series’ only session.

In the rain-filled session, Byron led Joey Logano, Kyle Larson, Kyle Busch and Chase Elliott inside the top-five. Christopher Bell, Ross Chastain, Kurt Busch, Ryan Blaney and Michael McDowell rounded out the top-10.

For multiple drivers ranked lower in points, there were issues just getting on the track for practice, as inspection was help up for many drivers until the final minutes of practice.

Other noteables include: Alex Bowman (P14), Denny Hamlin (P16), Austin Cindric (P18), James Davison (P20), Brad Keselowski (P21), Martin Truex Jr (P23), Matt DiBenedetto (P26), Aric Almirola (P28), Kevin Harvick (P32), Ryan Newman (P34).
