Tyler Ankrum Claims First Career Pole at Circuit of The Americas

Tyler Ankrum has claimed his first career pole in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, battling the tricky and wet conditions provided to the field in Saturday Morning’s qualifying session at Circuit of The Americas.

Ankrum’s No. 26 Circle B Diecast Chevrolet Silverado held a two tenths of a second advantage over Kaz Grala, who earned the first top-five start for Young’s Motorsports. Sheldon Creed, Matt Crafton and Todd Gilliland rounded out the top-five.

John Hunter Nemechek, Cameron Lawrence, Parker Chase, Austin Hill, Christian Eckes, Ben Rhodes and Ryan Truex rounded out the 12 drivers that made the final round of qualifying.

Other notables include: Zane Smith (15th), Stewart Friesen (16th), Derek Kraus (19th), Chandler Smith (20th), Grant Enfinger (23rd), Paul Menard (26th), Johnny Sauter (27th), Hailie Deegan (28th), Chase Purdy (31st), Jack Wood (33rd) and Tanner Gray (36th).

Logan Bearden (No. 44), Dawson Cram (No. 41), Spencer Boyd (No. 20), Samuel LeComte (No. 72), John Atwell (No. 49), Brad Gross (No. 83) and Jennifer Jo Cobb (No. 10) were the seven trucks that failed to qualify for the inaugural Toyota Tundra 225 at Circuit of The Americas.
