Entering Friday Night’s General Tire 150 at Phoenix Raceway, many had Ty Gibbs at the top of their list to claim the victory in the second ARCA Menards Series event of the season – and the first ARCA Menards Series West race of the season.

However, Gibbs didn’t just take the victory, he DOMINATED the event, leading 124 of the race’s 150 laps en-route to his ninth victory in the ARCA Menards Series.

Corey Heim – the winner of the season-opener at Daytona — finished in the runner-up position, after running there the majority of the event. In third and fourth, both Thad Moffitt and Kyle Sieg earned career-best finishes in the ARCA Menards Series. NASCAR Camping World Truck Series regular Derek Kraus rounded out the top-five for Bill McAnally Racing.

The race featured a total of seven caution flags for 63 laps. On lap one, Gracie Trotter and Zane Smith made contact entering the first turn, sending the No. 25 and No. 17W into the outside wall, collecting both Jack Wood and Toni Breidinger.

Later in the event, Nick Sanchez – who had been running inside the top-five all night long — got hir by another car entering the first corner, sending his No. 2 Chevrolet SS into the outside wall extremely hard. Sanchez was able to emerge from his car with no injuries. No replay of the accident was shown.

The final caution of the race came with seven laps to go, when a light rain in the area caused a slick racetrack in turn four, causing the No. 54 Ford Fusion of Joey Iest to spin out. Iest would finish 16th.
