Connecticut’s Ryan Preece will add a little more NASCAR National Series action to his plate for the 2021 season, as he is set to run two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events for David Gilliland Racing in the No. 17 truck later this season.

According to a release from DGR, Preece, 30, will run in back-to-back races for the truck series organization in June, as he’ll run June 18th at Nashville Superspeedway and June 26th at Pocono Raceway.

Preece will have sponsorship from Hunt Brothers Pizza at Nashville and Morton Buildings at Pocono.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to run Nashville and Pocono and partner with Hunt Brothers Pizza and Morton Buildings,” said Preece in the release. “DGR has done an awesome job building its program from the short tracks to the national level. I said it at the beginning of the season, I’m going to be in the seat as much as I can be. Cup, Truck, Modifieds – whatever has four wheels and an engine that will give me the opportunity to chase after trophies.”

Ryan Preece has had a very good start to the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series campaign with JTG Daugherty Racing, as he sits 13th in the NASCAR Cup Series driver standings after four events. Despite running for the charter-less No. 37 team, Preece has two top-10 finishes and three top-15s already this season.

An interesting wrinkle in this announcement is that JTG Daugherty Racing fields Chevrolet Camaros in the NASCAR Cup Series, while David Gilliland Racing is a Ford F-150 team in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
