David Gilliland will return to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on Friday Night at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, piloting the No. 17 Ford F-150 for David Gilliland Racing in the Bucked Up 200.

The team confirmed Gilliland’s intentions of running the third race of the season to TobyChristie.com late last week.

In February, Gilliland piloted the entry to a 14th-place finish in the season-opening NextEra Energy 250 at Daytona International Speedway. That run, along with the top-five finish by Riley Herbst at Daytona’s Road Course the following week, has placed the organization’s No. 17 entry eighth in 2021 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Owner Points.

The 44-year-old has made one prior NCWTS start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, finishing 22nd in the debut for Billy Ballew Motorsports in 2005. However, across NASCAR’s top-three divisions, Gilliland has run at the 1.5-mile facility on 12 occasions, scoring a best finish of 14th in the 2009 Shelby 427, driving for TRG Motorsports.

According to the team’s submitted crew roster, Seth Smith is scheduled to be the crew chief for Gilliland’s No. 17 Ford F-150.

Additional details including the sponsorship of Gilliland’s No. 17 Ford F-150 will be announced by the team at a later date and added to this story when they are available.
